Hell
Freezes Over - The Eagles. This live
recording does justice to all the tunes from the exceptional "Hotel
California" to "Take it Easy". The band has never
sounded better. |
The
Selected Works [BOX SET] The Eagles. Like
the Eagle's Greatest Hits which is the Number One selling recording of
all time, this, their first box set should be very popular. A four
disc set, in a canvas box, it segregates the tunes by rockers, ballads,
country-rock, and their live millennium concert cuts. Included are
some great unreleased studio works. A 44 page booklet with liner notes
by Glenn Frey rounds out the collection. |
Eagles
- Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 The Eagles. This is currently
the BEST SELLING RECORDING of all time! This collection covers their
most productive years with great hits like "Take It Easy", "Lyin' Eyes",
"Peaceful Easy Feeling" and "Tequila Sunrise." You can't go wrong
with the Eagles' laid back country rock. |
Emerson
Lake & Palmer - Emerson, Lake & Palmer This, their
first album of "pomp" rock from 1970 defines their intense orchestral style
with some very fine tunes including "Lucky Man" and "Take A Pebble".
Keith Emerson's keyboards and Greg Lake's vocals are timeless. |
Fairport
Convention- Unhalfbricking (1969) I just recently bought this album, and
it is pretty damn good. It sounds alot like Jefferson Airplane but a little
more folkier. Lead singer Sandy Denny has a beautiful voice ,which sounds
alot like Joan Baez's. "Autopsy" and "Who Know's Where The Time Goes" are
my favorite songs on the album. This is a very good, mellow album worth
checking out! -Matt |
American
Beauty - The Grateful Dead. This 1970
release showcases the bands songwriting and is a perfect introduction.
For those who want an brief overview of this prolific band try Skeletons
from the Closet. For a more in-depth live experience I recommend
Europe
'72. |
The Best of The Guess Who. Hits include "Laughing",
"American Woman", "These Eyes" and "No Time". |
The
Best of Arlo Guthrie - The son of famous folk singer Woody Guthrie
made a name for himself with Alice's
Restaurant. This recording includes the hits, "Alice's
Restaurant", "The City of New Orleans" and "Coming into Los
Angeles". |
Hair:
The American Tribal Love Rock Musical - The Original Broadway Cast
Recording [SOUNDTRACK] This recording has all the songs from the
show, including Aquarius, Easy to Be Hard, Good Morning Starshine and of
course Hair. 32 cuts in all. |
All
Things Must Pass - George Harrison.
George impressed everyone with his first solo album after the Beatles.
His spirituality plays well on "Give Me Love" and "My
Sweet Lord" as well as the title cut. For a fuller overview
of Harrison's work check out the Best
of George Harrison which includes some of his Beatles work. |
Resume
- The Best of Richie Havens With his intense, unique style, Richie
Havens can ignite your soul with his original songs or famous covers.
From Woodstock to the present Richie still delivers music with a passion. |
Are
You Experienced? - The Jimi Hendrix Experience.
This 1967 recording captured Jimi's best known works. The legendary
guitarist/composer exposes his raw psychedelic talent on everything from
"Purple
Haze" to "Foxey Lady". Another good one is
Electric
Ladyland. |

Jimi
Hendrix - Live At The Fillmore East. Yes
it's a new double album of two concerts recorded at the Fillmore, New Year's
